Nobody is just telling little boys man up and walking away. What are you talking about. If that happen to you I'm sorry that was **** up but that isn't the majority so please stop spreading lies as if it is.

That doesn't make sense. You hear man up once and it's okay. You here man up consistently and it makes men feel pressure?

Over the years being told that you've been taught to suppress your emotions as a man is more harmful than this so called suppression you're making up.

I can't remember if the term man up was used but I've definitely had phrasing like that spoken towards me and I never felt as if I was told to suppress my emotions. If you're a dude and you felt that way I'm curious as to what type of adult man you grew up to be, what's your relationship with women, what type of job do you have. I'd love to talk to your friends and see what they say about you because I've met men like you and 9x out of 10 you're all the same. Emotional issues, not the brave courage type, not a boss or manager, issues talking with women, weak spine and you know what that's fine but don't tell other men that "suppression of emotions" is a bad horrible thing because it definitely serves plenty men well

You keep saying people are saying man up and not teaching anything else and that's just not true. No matter how much you scream it, it's not true sorry.

I love you guys, I listen whenever I can, but if you feel someone telling you to get it together, compose yourself over time is harmful then maybe you should go to counseling and figure yourself out. Background, I grew with a single dad the only girl in house and he taught me toughness. It help me through life, it doesn't mean I don't cry or don't get emotional. It means I've learned to control my emotions

It's not a bad thing unless said over and over again. Awesome. Give us your data or is it just your "emotions" or "feelings"?

Such a great discussion I guess until everyone started screaming but my class had a discussion about this topic after I listened to the podcast and all the guys said they weren't ever taught this. The ladies kept saying it was taught and the guys kept saying the same thing we weren't taught that. I think women need to stop spreading this information. It's clear this isn't true and it's a wives tales. We are all in our early 20s so this over time comment is ridiculous and harmful. If you want to use the 3 guys out of 50 who are sensitive and felt it harmed them all you're doing is circling the bottom of the barrel to prove a non point.

I'm a motivational speaker, a dad, a sports coach and I've been telling boys and men to man up for years. Man up is looking in the mirror, fixing your problem and not constantly complaining. Ladies stop trying to compare us to you, men handle their problems and women complain about them. I'm not saying anything new, there are behaviors that are associated with women always crying, complaining, constantly showing emotion is something associated with women so if a man is constantly crying and complaining yeah I'm going to look at him and say stop **** crying all the time, man up or if that's the type of person you want to be take your ass over there because we men over here we handle our problems we don't whine about them. To the young man who says men told you showing emotions at all is wrong please give me their emails because I'd love to have a conversation with them. Below is one of my speeches, enjoy.

Your dad was your coach and him saying this isn't the time or place to get hysterical is fine once but if he says it over time again and again it's harmful? Okay so let's say you play basketball and your dad is your coach in middle school, junior high, high school and when you go to college. You're saying he is harming you when he tells you every other day to toughen up, suck it up this ain't the time to cry or get emotional?

This question is for chelsea. What if Charles cried at least once a week and everytime something gets a little hard or tough he starts getting emotional. What if you guys got stuck somewhere and Charles just started crying and breakdown and this is a constant thing that happens. How would you look at him?

Jessica keeps saying that telling someone to compose themselves is actually telling someone to suppress their emotions. So the question is, is telling someone to compose themselves "suppress their emotions" like Jessica says. Is that wrong to tell someone to compose themselves.

The term man up is about **** the excuses, accountability and leveling up to reach your full potential. If you see it as any different you're a toxic person trying to change definitions or find a problem.

I want a man who is mentally strong and doesn't crack under pressure or get emotional at situations all the time. I need him to be tough when it's time.
