Going back to the Victorian days men and women's physical differences were emphasized so yes men and women took up roles. Way back when life wasn't easy like it is now. And as a woman physically and mentally, cutting men out all together it would be hard on your own. Men did take a patriarchal view on women and I believe women wanted that. They wanted to be safe, they wanted their children to be safe, they wanted to be provided for. I believe men did what we could to make easy for women to live. But one day women woke up and said "I'm not scared anymore", "I can do things on my know", I can be independent", "I want what you have men". But you can't have what we have because you can't/don't do what we do. And that's where the problem lies is women don't respect men anymore. I think men need to take the throne again and become the patriarchy that it once was.
