PRIDE can definitely be a toxic masculine trait in my opinion more for men than women. There is a healthy amount of pride that you should have to feel good about yourself and whatever you do. However men struggle with when to put their pride to the side and when they do this they feel weak. Asking for help with finances? Going to therapy? Admitting that they’re struggling? It makes them feel like they’re weak and that’s not the case…. Society is to blame and y’all should be able to ask for help whenever you need it.

To Jessica. How do you feel about Euthanasia? Are you okay with people choosing to end their lives making that decision or do you think laws should be made to stop that?
-
I figure I'd post this from an old podcast you guys had about Kanye West and the white live matter t shirts. I'm curious Charles thoughts on his Jewish comments. If you understand what he's getting at.
-
I'm a woman, I'm not going to tell you what to do, but I also don't believe it should be a woman's right to kill a baby. Nobody should have the right to kill a human whether inside or outside that body. Practice safe sex or don't have sex.
-
Pretty pathetic if you're mad that men are competive at work. Sounds like you want everyone to jog to the finish line like you. Stick to babysitting.
-
Congrats Benjamin. We thank you for the unequal analogy of slavery and women's rights. Slavery is a common sense wrong that 100% of people know is wrong. Abortion is way more complex than that. There's a murder of a child, but it's in a person's body so my good sir it's not that black and white.
-
Men seeking dominance wanting to climb the corporate ladder. Being overly competitive.
-
Men thinking it's okay to sleep with tons of women. I'm still gonna do it, but I agree it's toxic.
-
Sexual aggression. Making sexist jokes to women, about women, accept **** myths or behaving as if you're entitled to women's bodies
-
Many people believe the goal of being stoic is never showing or feeling emotion. Negative. It's a belief and study that teaches effective ways to deal with negative emotions. I listened to the episode where you guys spoke about men's emotions and got me so furious that grown individuals think it's okay to believe men walk on this earth being taught to suppress emotion. Made me sick.
-
I want to jump on this stoism topic. Stoics never promoted the idea of emotional repression. This is once again a trope women perpetuated to give the idea that all men do is repress emotions. The bare bones idea of stoism is learning how to manage them so they don't take control.
-
I do agree men sleeping with multiple partners is toxic, it highly encourages men to break women's hearts, lie to them. Now there are multiple women walking around with dating trauma.
-
I think when people say being stoic is toxic it's them failing to realize men and women are different and men handle situations different than women. I don't need to whine about my problem when I can find a solution to handle them.
-
Everyone should go read the story of female journalist Norah Vincent who lived as a man for 3 years and committed suicide years later when she discovered how hard it was. Even women living as a man for research ended up committing suicide.
-
I'm very much on the questioning side of mr dreadhead. I've listened to this podcast for years and Ben's opinions and stances tells a story of a guy who doesn't live up to what people consider the traditional man so he tries to disassociate himself with the labels.
-
I don't agree women are born at a disadvantage. I do agree men do somethings better than women and several of those things help society move forward to benefit humanity. With that being the case women should be upset and hurl attacks because it being a fact.
-
I think stoism is very toxic telling men to never show emotion or express emotion. I'd never teach my son this.
-
I'd like to ask Ben what's an example of free speech that should come with retaliation because Chase and JP Morgan severed toes with Kanye West because he spoke about Jewish people having a monopoly in the entertainment world, Hollywood and the banking system.
-
Women are based on their beauty. It's a gift and curse. If you're a fat ugly woman you better be a smart or nobody is paying you any attention in life. My youngest sister isn't very attractive, her friends aren't very attractive. They're gamer girls and she'll tell you herself men, the world don't give her a second look. But a guy who's just funny everyone will pay attention to me.
-
While feminist complain about the patriarchy. The patriarchy created laws to protect women. If the world was a matriarchal I bet they wouldn't create laws to help men. Great example, name one thing feminist fight for that benefit men?
-
I think all women should shut the **** up about the pay wage gap until we have gender equality with bricklayers and oil rigs.
-
Life will never be fair no matter what you do someone's going to suffer everyone has disadvantages only difference with men is we just deal with it whereas women will march and complain about it. Jessica mentioned we are still discussing topics from the 70s and she is 100% correct on this and they will never get solved so we can complain all we want but Society is trying its best to make everyone equal and sometimes that's at the detriment of another group.
-
Why is someone who is against abortion wrong and someone who is for abortion right. I've commented on this before until you can give information and evidence why we should allow you to murder babies then stop talking. You had a choice not to have sex, you had a choice to protect yourself. I know you'll use **** or health to hide the fact that you're killing innocent babies. Killing babies is wrong and there's no way around it.
-
Using the excuse that women didn't work in the 1950s to explain why women aren't in male dominated fields in 2022 is probably one of the dumbest excuses I've ever heard. It's like saying "hey black people couldn't get loans for housing that's why most black people don't own homes in 2022".
-
It's the constant reminder that you need a man to exist. It's jarring and not something I want to constantly hear.
-
Abortion. That's literally a disadvantage of women. Jessica wants to make abortion a choice because it's a disadvantage to have a baby that you don't want to have.
-
First telling someone that they are born at a disadvantage is an insult after you say calling someone a coward is an insult. Secondly, we get it. Men run society, men create and make our society go. I'm not denying it and Jessica you shouldn't deny it. My thing is you don't have to sound insulting when speaking on this subject. You don't have to insult women to prove your point.
-
As far as women's health aside from abortion I don't know what laws are preventing us from doing anything or what's preventing us from getting healthcare. I'm new to you guys podcast and I've been listening to a lot of them for the past month. Jessica is very frustrating to listen to sometimes. She says there's alot, but fails to mention anything, but abortion. Someone will say 2 + 2 is 4 and your trying to rationalize and convince people that it's really 6 because you can't understand why it's 4. I'm pro-choice, but I believe in holding people accountable for their actions and not pretending facts don't exist.
-
The disadvantage of being a woman is having to choose your career over being a mother. What about my health and how our bodies are constructed? How about crying over the dumbest **** as if I'm a toddler. We are looked at as chattel even by other women who are straight it's always about our beauty. I'm literally vulnerable as hell if someone decides to attack me I could be seriously hurt. I had to work extra hard at my career so people would take me more seriously. I don't know if you are trying to make yourself seem strong, but I would take any disadvantages men have versus women. Not even a question of whether I'd switch places or not.
-
What's funny about feminism is the woman that lives three houses down from me and my husband was a former feminist. She's never been married. She has one child and she's always trying to borrow my husband to do things around her house. **** if you found your own man you wouldn't have to come after mine. All I'm trying to say is all these women who want to be independent when you get old don't be trying to steal other people's men to help you around the house and make them your community husband.
-
I understand that abortion wasn't really the talking point. It was just got brought up, but Jessica said that ****, incest and the mother's health you have to add it all together because you don't know why people get abortions. You are wrong Jessica, we have statistics to know what people are using abortion for. You can't pick and choose your statistics just because it doesn't fit you're agenda. You can scream to the mountains how it should be a woman's choice to kill babies. I will scream back saying no we shouldn't let you have that choice. People like you only bring up ****, incest and the mother's health because you don't have any real argument to being allowed to kill a child. You use it to tug at people's heart strings.
-
I don't know if women are born at a disadvantage, but I understand what he's saying. Most women don't have the ability to build society aside from creating children. For example why aren't there any women in hard dirty jobs. That's actually a question I'd like Jessica to answer? Have men conspired to keep women away from these jobs? There are hardly any women as plumbers, electricians, wood masonry etc. Street and cell tower maintenence positions, construction, truck driver, waste collection. I can go on. Please tell me why women aren't working these jobs? Why aren't you working one of these jobs Jessica? Saying women are at a disadvantage is a probably not the right word. They do the jobs that make the world go round and function.
