Ben, you said throughout your childhood men told you you're wrong for showing emotion but you can't give a specific situation I call bullshit. The only adult men doing that to kids are abusive men, so my question is is your father and the men around you abusive men.

This a conversation that as a woman we need to not push on men. We should give them the same respect we ask for when it's a situation that women's voices should dominate. If men are saying this isn't what's happening or this isn't affecting me like you say it is and reading through the comments it sounds like men don't agree woth you. We should listen and not talk over them.

Every guy I've been around who says men were taught to suppress their emotion were all emotionally sensitive men. Doesn't surprise me.

Man up is a conversation you have with yourself. Someone might say hey man up but it's mostly about you telling yourself to get it together.

I don't want to dismiss Ben's story, but I have a question. Do you think most boys had a childhood like you where people told them you're wrong for showing emotion?

I think it's wrong for women to tell men how they should feel about how they were raised. I think it's wrong for women to assume men have emotional issues because of being told man up.

What I've been gaining by reading some of the comments is men are standing up against lies that have been told about them and not allowing women to constantly spread falsehoods without being challenged.

The question that needs to be asked is if majority of men say they weren't taught this will women continue to spin the wheel and say we were taught this and it effects us?
